In this week’s episode of Own Your Piece, I sat down with entrepreneur and Human Design Reflector Jeff Burningham to explore what it truly means to stay human in the age of AI.

Our conversation is anchored around Jeff’s book, The Last Book Written by a Human: Becoming Wise in the Age of AI, but this isn’t a tech-heavy or fear-based discussion. It’s a deeper look at wisdom, meaning, and the crossroads humanity is standing at as technology evolves faster than our culture, institutions, and sense of identity.

Jeff shares how writing this book marked a shift from chronic doing into being, and how AI has become a powerful mirror reflecting our humanity back to us. We explore two emerging timelines: one where people become disembodied and lost in the machine, and another where we reclaim sovereignty, rebuild what’s broken, and return to what’s real.

This episode is an initiation. A call to step out of the cage of “should,” leave performance behind, and choose the middle way where AI becomes a tool that supports life, not something that replaces our humanity.

The question isn’t whether AI is coming.
It’s whether we’ll let it pull us away from ourselves… or help us remember who we are.

Key Takeaways

  • AI is a mirror, not a master; it reflects what we feed it.
  • Intelligence is being commoditized; wisdom is embodied and lived.
  • Our anchors in this era are the body, nature, and real human relationships.
  • Old systems are collapsing because they no longer serve human flourishing.
  • For Pluto in Libra women, this is the lesson: stop choosing sides, start choosing truth.
  • The middle way—not rejection or worship is where wisdom lives.
  • Pattern breakers will face resistance. That doesn’t mean stop. It means you’re early.

If you’ve felt unsettled by how fast everything is changing, you’re not broken, you’re awake. You don’t have to choose fear or fantasy. You get to choose presence.

And if you feel the pull to break a pattern, speak a truth, or leave the cage behind, hear this: resistance often means you’re right on time.

Until next time, keep owning your piece.
